How It All Started…
I’m proud to convey the story of how and why ‘Oliver Peters’ was produced, we hope you enjoy! A certain individual who goes by the name of ‘Peter Reginald Stevens’ was infatuated by technology and the evolution of Software. Peter kept up to date with the latest Technology, understood software programming/languages and was an innovator in his own right – considering this man was 90 years of age and was still so enthusiastic and fascinated by Technology was mind-boggling and quite simply inspiring to say the least! Peter had been using communication methods from the 1920’s including communicating Morse-Code to 2018 with his latest IPhone!
So my name is Oliver and Peter was my Grandfather! I wanted to create a business that holds great respect and integrity, a company that’s influenced by technology, a company that truly wants to make a difference to the evolution of future technology. Evidentially a huge influence in starting this venture is due to my Grandfather, I wanted to create something that he’d be proud of, build a solid base and expand naturally through exceptional reputation.
I started the business off the back of having an extensive background within technology / software. A combined 6 years working for a specialist software recruitment business and also having first hand experience working in a leading ERP company in central London. My industry experience has led to me having a very successful network within Saas/ERP/Cloud/AI/Security.
Recruitment is relationship based. I love working long term with clients and working as a consultant. I am not, nor have ever been, a ‘bums on seats’ recruiter. I love the challenge of finding that fit, for both client and candidate. That is probably why a heavily KPI driven environment didn’t suit me, I thrive on giving a personal approach to my clients. Most of the clients I work with today, I have worked with for many years and I enjoy that process of getting to know a business. Really getting under the skin of the environment and finding out what the client wants and therefore actually reading the candidates well enough to know if they will enjoy it there. Oliver Peters’ is here to stay, the dedication to support clients during a transformation or a core technical hire will sparkle.
We want our candidates to stay, and enjoy what they do, whilst positively effecting the environment we have placed them in. I want them to think upon Oliver Peters’ first conversation as a positive encounter and something that positively affected their future.
I truly believe what we do, can be done better. I am certainly not saying that Oliver Peters’ has the perfect solution but I think customer service on both sides of the introduction is paramount. The candidate has to trust your advice and the client has to trust that you have put the best possible person in front of them. Anything less, is a waste of all parties time.
Oliver Peters’ is small and successful now but we have large aspirations. We are learning and becoming a specialist in our field, we are constantly evolving as an agency. As we launch our new website, I would like to thank our loyal clients and candidates. We are really just at the start of our journey but we are both really enjoying the ride.
